Enhance Audio for clearer voices

A one-tap sound boost that clears up voices while you listen — on by default.

Family recordings are made on all kinds of phones, in all kinds of rooms. Enhance Audio cleans up what you hear on the Listen page — cutting low rumble, brightening voices, and evening out volume between quiet and loud readers — so the whole family sounds consistent, chapter after chapter.

Where to find it

  1. Open your Profile.
  2. Tap Listening under Settings.
  3. Toggle Enhance Audio on or off.

This is a global preference — it applies everywhere you listen, and it's on by default for every account.

Your recordings are never changed

Enhance Audio does all of its work live, in your browser or app, while a verse plays. Nothing is uploaded, re-processed, or stored differently — the original recording your family member made stays exactly as they recorded it. Turning Enhance Audio off simply plays that same file without the live boost.

Why it moved to Profile

Enhance Audio used to be a toggle on the Listen page itself. It now lives in your Profile because it's a listening preference you set once and forget — like your Bible translation or default listen point — rather than something you'd want to flip mid-chapter.

Good to know

  • Changes take effect the next time you start playback.
  • Enhance Audio works alongside Trim silence — use either, both, or neither.
  • If your browser can't support the enhancement for any reason, playback still works normally — Enhance Audio never blocks audio from playing.
